Go PHP 5
On or before February 5th, 2008, DNP will be accepting PHP 5.2 features into it's codebase; and DNP will no longer support PHP versions <= 4. PHP 5.2 offers many new object-oriented features that will allow me to make DNP's code much cleaner and increase it's performance.
Unfortunately, many web hosts do not yet support PHP 5, even though it has already been out and in use for three years. Therefore, along with many other open source projects, DNP has joined the Go PHP 5 initiative, which is designed to encourage hosters and developers to leave PHP 4 behind and start using PHP 5 instead.
DNP versions released before February 8th, 2008 will still support PHP 4 after February 5th, 2008, including bug fix and maintenance releases; however, official support for these versions may be discontinued at any time.
